On the afternoon of November 15th, a delegation of Alibaba Digital Media & Entertainment Group led by Liao Huainan, general manager of Animation Center of Youku Business Group, arrived at Huaqiao University (HQU) to discuss cooperation issues. President Xu Xipeng warmly welcomed the delegation.
Liao Huainan stated that Alibaba Digital Media & Entertainment Group bears the responsibility of carrying out vital strategies of Alibaba Group in the following decades, and is the most up-to-date industrial platform of Alibaba after e-commerce, financial services, intelligent logistics and cloud-computing businesses. He expected further cooperation with HQU in the training of cultural industry management personnel, event promotion and management, animation IP (intellectual property) development and so on, and proposed to jointly build an innovative and application-oriented college in cultural and sports industries.
Xu Xipeng said that the university is looking forward to building partnerships with Alibaba Digital Media & Entertainment Group. He hoped that both parties can rely on their respective advantages in exploration of improving HQU's existing superior projects and including more HQU elements in project cooperation, as well as expanding cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship education, creative culture promotion, training of management personnel in cultural and sports industries and so on.
Leaders from President’s Office, Graduate School, Office of Educational Administration and Department of Student Affairs were also present at the meeting.
