On the morning of October 21^st, a delegation of university presidents from Myanmar, led by Daw Nwe Ni, deputy director of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education, visited Xiamen Campus of Huaqiao University. The delegation consisted of 13 members, who are vice-presidents, professors and department heads from universities of Myanmar, including University of Mandalay, University of Yatanarpon, Lashio University, Ba Maw University, University of Foreign Languages, Mandalay, University of Traditional Medicine, Myanmar, Technological University, Kyaukse, Bioscience Institute of Kyaukse, Mandela College, and University of Myitkyina.

     Zeng Lu, Vice-President of HQU, warmly welcomed the delegation's visit and gave a brief introduction of HQU. He pointed out that HQU is a comprehensive institution of higher education with strengths in science and engineering and distinctiveness in liberal arts. He then mentioned that HQU is experienced in providing Chinese language education and training programs to overseas students and has extensive cooperation with Southeast Asian countries. He also expected that through exchanges and cooperation with the universities of Myanmar in many fields, HQU will build a closer connection with universities in Myanmar, thus promoting the relationship between China and Myanmar.

     Daw Nwe Ni introduced Myanmar's higher education. She proposed to explore cooperation with HQU through student exchanges and scientific research communication. And she hoped that more Myanmar students will study at HQU.

     Many from the delegation also had a strong desire to establish the cooperation between HQU and their universities and enhance the education communication between China and Myanmar.

   Directors from HQU's Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, Admissions Office and Office of Chinese International Education also attended the meeting.
