The 7th High-End Forum on Southeast Asian Religious Studies Commences in HQU

      On the morning of October 21st, under the theme of Southeast Asian Religion and a Community of a Shared Future for Mankind, the 7th High-End Forum on Southeast Asian Religious Studies opened at Xiamen campus of Huaqiao University. More than 60 specialists and scholars from both home and abroad attended this forum.

    Founded in 2012 by the Institute of World Religions (IWR) of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), this forum, through academic exchanges, aims to further the study of the relationships between religions and strategies for social, political and cultural development, therefore giving impetus to religious studies in Southeast Asia.

   During the two-day meetings, discussions centered around the topics including Buddhism, Folk Beliefs, Confucianism, Islam, Christianity, Taoism, Ethnicity and Religion, and so on.   

      The forum was jointly hosted by IWR of CASS, HQU and the Academy of Chinese Religions,organized by the School of Philosophy and Social Development of HQU, HQU Overseas Chinese and Fujian-Taiwan Religions Research Center and HQU Innovation Team of Overseas Chinese and Fujian-Taiwan Religions Research, and co-organized by the editorial department of The World Religious Cultures.
