HQU Student Wins Gold Medal in the 47th ICPC Asia Nanjing Regional

The 47th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Asia Regional Nanjing was held online on Dec. 18th. “Rising sun”, a team from the College of Computer Science and Technology of HQU, made up of student Zhao Yuyang and supervisor Luo Wei won the gold medal, ranking 5th out of 416 teams. They achieved the best result in HQU history of this event.

 

This year, the team has won gold awards in two ICPC Asian regional competitions and two China Collegiate Programming Contest (CCPC) competitions. So far, it has won 9 gold medals in the last three years in the two programming events.

 

ICPC is the largest international college student programming competition with the highest level and the largest number of participants in the world. It offers opportunities for college students to demonstrate their innovation, team spirit and problem-solving skills. ICPC has become the world’s most prestigious computer science competition, as it has brought together elites in computer field from all continents in the world and attracted many world-renowned universities and computer giants. 416 from 245 universities across China compete in the 2022 competition. 35 gold medals, 70 silver medals, and 105 bronze medals were awarded in the contest.
