From October 25th to 28th, Huaqiao University (HQU) conducted an enrollment campaign at senior high schools in Macao. The admissions staff met with principals and directors of college counselling, and briefed local students about the university and explained its admission policies.
The team visited 10 senior high schools and delivered 10 enrollment promotion lectures to over 1,300 students. They introduced HQU in detail with respect to its history, commitment to overseas Chinese,and undergraduate programs,and detailed the educational policies and advantages in relation to Macao students. The lectures also featured the enrollment of recommended Macao students that will start from November 1st to 11th, highlighting relevant requirements and the application procedure. Students were highly interested and inquired about HQU’s curriculum setting, living conditions and employment prospects, and each of the questions was addressed in detail and in completion.
The number of graduating students in Macao has been declining in recent years, with just over 3,000 graduates in 2022. The Liaison Office of HQU in Macao has been working very hard to reverse the situation, and enrolled 159 students from Macao in 2022. During the lingering pandemic period, the enrollment staff will keep promoting HQU through online and offline activities such as outstanding students returning to their alma maters to help more Macao teachers and students know about HQU and to enhance the popularity of the school, so as to recruit more and better students from Macao.
