On July 9th, Huaqiao University (HQU) organized a pep rally for its delegation to the 17thGames of Fujian.
Pre-finals of the Games (College category) will be held in universities in Fujian from July to August. The HQU’s delegation include 20 teams of 280 athletes from 24 schools and colleges. They will compete in 8 events, i.e., track and field, swimming, basketball, gas volleyball, football, badminton, tennis and fitness Qigong.
The pep rally took place in Linshuzhen Gymnasium on the morning of July 9th. Wan Anlun, the Vice President, attended the rally and presented flags to the participating teams. He hoped that all coaches, athletes and staff would spare no efforts to compete with determination and confidence and achieve good results and new glory for HQU.
Heads of the Academic Affairs Office, the Department of Student Affairs and the College of Physical Education, and all the athletes also attended the rally.
The quadrennial Games of Fujian is the largest, highest-level, and most competitive sports event in Fujian province. It also serves as an examination of HQU’s comprehensive strength and competitive sports. The current edition covers more than 20 events that fall into four categories, namely, the youth, industry, college and the mass categories.
