The 10th ​Dynamics Days Asia-Pacific Commences in HQU

      On the morning of November 2nd, the 10th Dynamics Days Asia-Pacific (DDAP10), subsidized by the special funds for theoretical physics of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and hosted by Huaqiao University, opened at Wang Yuanxing International Conference Center, Xiamen campus of HQU. Zeng Lu, Vice-President of HQU, and the head of College of Information Science and Engineering of HQU, as well as more than 300 specialists and scholars in the fields of Statistical Physics and Complex System from both home and abroad attended this conference.

      Zeng Lu warmly welcomed the specialists and scholars and made an introduction on the history and the current situation of HQU, and the principle of HQU--- Integration of Chinese Wisdom and Foreign Expertise, Unification of Moral Character and Professional Excellence. He affirmed the efforts made by HQU in the researches of Natural Science and interdisciplinary fields, and the achievements in Statistical Physics, Dynamics, Complex System and Team Construction since the establishment of the Institute of Systems Science in HQU.

      Then, an appointment ceremony was held for HQU honorary professors and members of International Academic Committee of the Institute of Systems Science in HQU. Zeng Lu granted the Certificates of Honorary Professorship and the school badges to the specialists and scholars from home and abroad who enjoy high international reputation in the fields of Non-Linear and Complex System. They are Sergej Flach, Professor of University of Science and Technology (UST), South Korea , and the fellow of American Physical Society (APS); Celso Grebogi, Professor of University of Aberdeen, and the member of the Academia Europaea (The Academy of Europe); Peter Hanggi, Professor of Universitat Augsburg, Germany, and the member of the Academia Europaea (The Academy of Europe); Hu Gang, Professor of Beijing Normal University; Jurgen Kurths, Professor of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), and the member of the Academia Europaea (The Academy of Europe); Yingcheng Lai, Professor of Arizona State University, and the fellow of American Physical Society (APS); Fabio Marchesoni, Professor of Università di Camerino, Italy, and the member of the Academia Europaea (The Academy of Europe); Ouyang Qi, Professor of Peking University, and the Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Miguel A.F. Sanjuán, Professor of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Spain, and the member of the Academia Europaea (The Academy of Europe); and Tang Leihan, Professor of Hong Kong Baptist University, and the fellow of American Physical Society (APS).

      Professor Celso Grebogi, on behalf of all the honorary professors, delivered a speech at the ceremony. He thanked for HQU’s affirmation to his work and said that he would make further contributions to the development of Dynamics and other related fields in HQU.

       During the four-day conference, specialists from home and abroad made in-depth and heated discussions. 20 keynote speeches at the conference were wonderful, and more than 90 speakers at the parallel sessions exchanged ideas with participants in different fields.
