The Demographics of China in the New Eracompiled by the Leading Group of State Council for the 7th National Population Census has just published. The Taiwan volume of the series was commissioned to a social security research team of School of Political Science and Public Administration, Huaqiao University (HQU), with Professor Tang Zhaoyun serving as editor-in-chief, and associate professors He Hong and Shuang Wenyuan as the deputy editors.
Using census data from Taiwan and statistical yearbooks of Taiwan, this book adopts demographic theories and approaches to expound the fertility, mortality, population distribution and growth in the region, and analyze its gender, age, marriage and family, educational attainment and employment structures. Issues that exist in the sustainable development of Taiwan population are also discussed.
The editor-in-chief was responsible for overseeing the entire editorial process, ensuring the quality and integrity of the content, and setting the overall tone and the focus of content of each chapter, while the members of editorial team do the writing and editing.
